The 1st Slemani Cancer Conference is the first international oncology meeting of its kind in Slemani — a milestone for cancer care in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Dear colleagues and friends,
It is with great pride and excitement that we invite you to the 1st Slemani Cancer Conference, held on 4 February 2027 — World Cancer Day — at the Grand Millennium Sulaimani. For the first time, our city will host an international scientific meeting dedicated entirely to the fight against cancer.
Cancer knows no borders — and neither should knowledge. This conference brings world-leading oncologists, surgeons, radiation specialists, researchers, nurses, and students together with the medical community of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region to share science, build collaborations, and shape the future of cancer care in our region.
We look forward to welcoming you to Slemani — a city of culture, mountains, and hospitality — for a day of learning, exchange, and hope.
Our theme reflects three convictions: that innovation must reach every patient, that collaboration across borders and disciplines saves lives, and that the future of oncology is personalised, precise, and equitable.
Present the latest evidence across all major cancer types, from prevention to survivorship, delivered by international leaders.
Connect the medical community of Iraq and Kurdistan with global centres of excellence for lasting collaboration.
